ITT proudly announces the availability of Version 5 of the PumpSmart PS200 pump control logic. Designed to provide advanced pump control, protection, and Right-Sizing capabilities to your system, v5 includes the following enhancements:

SMARTFLOW
With unparalleled simplicity; v5 offers sensorless flow measurement with an accuracy of ±5% of the rated flow range. SMARTFLOW is simple to invoke; Only 4 pieces of performance data are required (Best-Efficiency-Point Flow, BEP Power, Rated Speed, and Power at Shut-off), all of which can be pulled from a standard Pricebook performance curve. No factory or field performance tests are required!

Flow Economy
Flow Economy is a simple metric that relates how much fluid can be moved with one unit of energy (kW), similar to fuel economy of your car. Flow Economy provides the ability to instantaneously gauge the relative performance of the pump system. Changes to your control strategy will immediately be reflected with Flow Economy.

Advanced Pump Protection (APP)
Changing speed on a centrifugal pump can have a profound impact on the total load of the pump, and monitoring power alone is not an effective method for protecting the pump at reduced speeds. APP is a sensorless pump protection feature that utilizes a self calibration function to improve the accuracy of the protection functionality. In addition, the APP algorithms takes into account effects such as variable torque load, mechanical losses, volumetric efficiency, eddy-current losses, casting defects, pump type (Ns), pump wear.

Positive Displacement Pump Protection
Centrifugal Pumps and Positive Displacement Pumps behave very differently with respect to torque and speed. v5 addresses this fact and can now deliver sensorless pump protection for either type of pump.

SMARTCONTROL
Flat pump performance curves can lead to large flow swings with a relatively small change in speed. This can make controlling a pump very difficult. SMARTCONTROL sets out to correct this problem by controlling the torque of the pump verses the speed. Controlling to pump torque can change a relatively flat pump performance curve into a steep, easy to control pump performance curve.
